The steps we take in creating your new outdoor living space, outlined below, have been developed over our 20+ years of experience in Nevada County.

• Our designers meet with you and determine a landscape plan that respects your budget.
• A phased project, implemented over a period of time, is entirely feasible.
• For larger projects requiring a design, we agree on a design budget and start the drawing process.
• For a smaller project we prepare a detailed bid.
• After the bid is accepted, our crews go to work building your outdoor living space.
• First, we bring in the tractors and set your grades.
• We pay particular attention to your site’s drainage patterns.
• Next, we trench your yard for the sprinkler system. We construct your sprinklers using only schedule 40 (thicker walled) pipe, commercial grade heads, valves, and controllers.
• We build your hardscape – patios, stone walls, fences, arbors – whatever your heart desires.

Cathy D’s believes that the success of your garden depends on how well we prepare the soil. Nitrified humus, and essential minerals are tilled into your dirt to increase the air spaces between the soil particles and provide nutrients to encourage plant growth and health.

Then comes the fun part. We bring in grade A quality plants and start decorating your living space. Cathy D’s designers pride themselves on selecting plant materials that are just a bit unique, a bit different, to make your outdoor living space stand out from the rest.
